THUSD Educational Foundation: FUNdraising for FUNdamentals!

We ask for a one-time donation from parents to help fund all of our wonderful programs.  This donation, or "pledge" is fully tax-deductible, and it all goes to the kids.  We ask for $180 per student.  (Just $1 per day, per child!)  It can be taken out of your checking account monthly, spreading out the cost over the 10 months of the school year.  Donate now securely through Paypal!

Our Mission: (per bylaws)  

   “The Foundation strives to bring to reality the dreams of the Twin Hills community to enhance the special quality of education afforded the students of the district.   The specific purpose for which this corporation is organized is to provide assistance and resources to support and enhance the educational programs of the Twin Hills Union School District, Sebastopol, California.” 

   We are a non-profit 501 (c) 3 organization who raises money to enrich the school day with art, music, PE, drama, computer time and electives.  We have recently helped fund the purchase and installation of new technology (The Foundation Projector Project) for all of the classrooms at Twin Hills Charter Middle School and four classrooms (so far!) at Apple Blossom Elementary School. 

   The Foundation Projector Project consists of document cameras, high resolution DLP projectors that are integrated with PC/Mac(s) and Smart Pads to deliver multimedia classroom technology at every level.  We recently incorporated sound and DVD/VCR into our newest installation to complete full integration for instruction. 

   We are a dedicated group of parent and staff volunteers who raise money by organizing our annual pledge drive, family events, fundraisers and after school Kidscience classes.  We welcome new volunteers, and encourage you to make contact with us to share opinions, ideas and concerns regarding Foundation business.    Our board meetings are held on the first Tuesday evening at 5pm of each month, and are open to everyone.

During the 2010-2011 School Year, THABEF funded:

1. Almost $800 for new desks at Twin Hills Charter Middle School
2. $500 toward the Garden Program Coordinator at Apple Blossom School
3. $19,500 toward the new technology at both schools.
4. $35,000 toward enrichment programs at both schools, which helps fund:

• Art classes (painting, drawing, sculpting at Apple Blossom) 
• Music (4th grade recorder, singing, choir, 5th grade band at Apple Blossom)
• PE (Coach Nick and Alyssa at Apple Blossom)
• Computer & Drama electives at Twin Hills
• Band & Choir at Twin Hills
